Pedestrian or Car Accident Statute of Limitations in Iowa
If you were injured in a motor vehicle accident, regardless of whether you were in the vehicle or struck as a pedestrian, Iowa law sets a time limit for when a lawsuit can be brought. This is called the Statute of Limitations.
Generally, under Iowa law an individual must bring a lawsuit within two years of the accident, or the claim is forever barred. Therefore, if you have been injured in an accident, you should contact a personal injury attorney as soon as possible.
